Hindhayes Worldview Approach
Aims of the Worldview approach:
For children to know about and understand a range of religious and non-religious worldviews by learning to see these through theological, philosophical and human/social lenses.
For children to express ideas and insights about the nature , significance and impact of religious and non-religious world-views through a multidisciplinary approach
For children to gain and deploy skills rooted in theology, philosophy and the human/social sciences, engaging critically with religious and non-religious world views.
At Hindhayes:
We believe that RE teaching should, where possible, start with specific people, individuals and children and how they live. This may be done through looking at case studies. Teachers will plan to use the three areas of disciplinary knowledge, believing, thinking and living. These are represented through the 'lenses' or theology, philosphy and human/social science. To help our children to develop these disciplinary skills, Hindhayes use a character associated with each lens.
